Detox Green Smoothie

Sweet yet simple; this smoothie is packed with the healthy goodness your body will love you for.

My least favorite thing about the holidays has to be all the delicious, rich, and fattening food that just tastes sooooo good.  Coming off of my Thanksgiving turkey high, I decided I needed to “detox” my body by eating clean.

I LOVE GREEN SMOOTHIES.

In fact, I am not sure how I ever survived without them. They are the perfect “fast food” for my busy life. As much as I love salads, I am often way too hungry to take the time to cut up all the ingredients and put the salad together. Stuffing the blender with everything and pressing the “smoothie” button on my blender just seems so much easier when my stomach is growling at me to hurry up.

Yield: 1 smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 medium banana
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 2 cups baby kale
  • 3/4 cup coconut water
  • 1/2 tbps. chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • juice from half a lime

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend together until smooth. Add more coconut water if needed.
